Following assessments players may be placed in one of the following development streams:

- Lighthouse

- Compass

- Metro

The 2026 Lighthouse and Compass League season for the Under 12 and Under 13 age groups will use a two-tier structure aimed at supporting player development through flexible rosters and balanced competition. The top tier, the Lighthouse League, is intended for players who are further along in their development, while the Compass League provides an environment for continued growth at a different pace. Both leagues are development-focused, ensuring all players have the opportunity to improve and enjoy the game.

A key feature of the program is a monthly roster reset, allowing clubs to move players between teams so each player can be placed in the most appropriate environment to support their individual progress.

You can find more details in the 2026 Under 12 & Under 13 League Plan at the link here.

The 2026 Metro League has teams in the following age groups: Under 7, Under 8, Under 9, Under 10, Under 11, Under 13 and Under 15.  Teams are tiered at U10 and above.  The U13 Metro team league is composed of players born in 2013 and 2014, with teams formed based on assessments across both the U12 and U13 age groups.

The Metro program follows Canada Soccer’s Grassroots approach, creating an environment where children can enjoy the game while developing at their own pace. By combining practices, games, and unique soccer experiences, players build their skills on the field while also gaining confidence, making friends, and developing a lasting connection to the sport. As well as metro league play, these teams also participate in the NLSA Soccer Festival, find dates here.

When registering for assessments choose either Under 12, birth year of 2014 or Under 13, birth year of 2013.  You can register for assessments, to be placed on a Lighthouse, Compass or Metro team here
